  Ernesto Baravalle is an Industrial Consultant with 2 years of experience working in Energy Management systems. He joined Soteica Visual Mesa in September of 2011. He has participated in several implementations of Visual Mesa in the past and now he is part of the Visual Mesa support team. His tasks include checking the models for potential improvements, participating in sustainability meetings with clients, keeping the models updated and attending to clients requests. Before joining SVM, Ernesto worked as a Supervisor Assistance in a Vegetable Oil Extraction plant and as an Office Assistance in an Agro-Chemicals company. Marcela Brina has 26+ years of experience in the gas processing, oil refining and petrochemical sector, where she has been working in the area of process engineering and computer science applications. She has extensive experience in project management and software implementation. Marcela joined SVM in 1994 and is currently the Project Management Office Director. Marcela participated as project manager and/or SME in software implementation projects around the world, including in 25+ Mass Balance and Production Accounting projects, Energy Management projects, and Scheduling and Operations Management projects. Previously, Marcela was with Tecna, where she participated as process engineer in turn key projects that involved the design and delivery of crude oil production and treatment facilities, and gas treatment plants. Ignacio Gamba joined Soteica Visual MESA in 2013 to be part of the S-SOM implementation and technical support team. Before joining the company, Ignacio worked at Clariant in Switzerland in the R&D Department (Nanotechnology Laboratory, Functional Chemicals Division) developing and producing additives for its application in the oil extraction process. He has been carrying out his PhD studies in Chemical Engineering developing his research work with the polymer science research group at INTEC, sponsored by TOTAL Petrochemicals.   Ruben David Monje has 3 years of experience in Energy Management and Optimization implementation projects using Visual MESA. Previously, he worked in the development of a Remote Web Access Laboratory and a device for teaching physics that allows the study of the free fall phenomena in real conditions. He did an internship at the Petrochemical and Catalysis Institute (INCAPE) of Argentina where he studied and characterized catalysts for the production of unsaturated ketones. He has taken courses at postgraduate level in Applied Mathematics, Fluid Mechanics, Energy and Mass Transfer, Chemical Reactors Design and Numerical Methods. Federico Neira has 9 years of experience in Supply Change Management with focus on Production Accounting and Data Reconciliation (PADR), from data capturing and integration with DCS and historians through oil accounting, reporting and integration to ERP systems. David Nelson is the Chief Technology Officer and is in charge of software development for Soteica Visual MESA, LLC. He is the primary architect and lead developer of Visual MESA, the flagship energy management product of SVM. David founded and served as operating manager and owner of Visual MESA, LLC and its predecessor company Nelson & Roseme, Inc. since 1997. Dr. Nelson started his career in 1989 at Chevron Research and Technology as part of their Energy Management Team and Advanced Computing Team. Carlos Ruiz has 32 years of experience in the fields of research, process engineering, advanced control and real time optimization projects for chemical, oil and petrochemical processes. He has been working with Soteica Visual MESA during more than 19 years and currently is directing the Energy Management Systems area. He participated as implementation engineer and project lead in many successful, worldwide projects related to energy systems real time optimization with Visual MESA software. Formerly, Carlos has been Process Engineer specialized in the advanced control and simulation areas, working for 6 years at Petroquimica Argentina SA (currently Petrobras). Early in his career he was Assistant Researcher at PLAPIQUI (Universidad Nacional del Sur, Bahia Blanca, Argentina) and Professor of several Argentine Universities. Currently, he is also Professor of Chemical Engineering, Computers Applications to Process Engineering course, at the Universidad Tecnologica Nacional, Rosario, Argentina. He founded there, in 1990, the Chemical Engineering Applied Research Institute, being its first Director. He published and presented more than 150 papers on Chemical and Process Engineering topics. Carlos holds a BS degree in Chemical Engineer from the Universidad Tecnologica Nacional, Rosario, Argentina. Juan P. Ruiz is the Optimization Specialist and Senior Developer in SVM. He obtained his B.S. in Chemical Engineering at the Universidad Tecnologica Nacional (UTN) in 2003 and his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering (Process Optimization) at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) in 2011. He teaches undergraduate and graduate level courses in Optimization and Advanced Analysis for Chemical Engineers at The University of Texas at Austin. He is an active member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AICHE) and the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS). He is also editor of the International Journal of Business Analytics. Juan brings to SVM more than 10 years of experience developing and implementing computer aided tools to improve the design and operation of industrial processes. Previous to joining SVM he worked as a Research Assistant in the Process Control Group at UTN, as the Operator Training Systems (OTS) lead developer at Soteica Latinoamerica S.A., as Dynamic Modeling Consultant at Soteica Ideas and Technology LLC, as Research Assistant at CMU and as Research Assistant at the Argonne National Laboratory.
